It's all happening on Regent Street right now. Just a little way down the road from Karl Lagerfeld's shiny new store, lies another new opening - Osprey. You won't find techy window displays and iPad-installed changing rooms here though because at Osprey heritage takes the lead.

From the initial waft of leather that hits you when you walk in, to the carefully sourced antique display cabinets and cascading flower arrangements, this store is a true feast for the eyes. When I wasn't admiring the beautifully crafted handbags and silk scarves, an ornament, knick-nack, stuffed butterfly or inviting armchair would catch my eye - all sourced from the buyers around-the-world travels and all for sale.

A spot-on blend of English eccentricity, be sure to pop downstairs on your visit where you'll find a basement packed with a too-tempting array of cushions, greetings cards and home gifts. There's even an in-shop cafe, making it all the harder to leave.

Top buy: Osprey's classic saddle handbag is one of those pieces that gets better as the years go on - let the leather wear in, soften and deepen in colour.

Each scarf different, you'll even find these beauties framed and hung as posters on the walls in store.

Osprey buyers travel the world and pick up unique fashion and interior gems to complement the traditional British offering in store...
